Budweiser NFT Collection Sells Out Within An Hour

Budweiser, Anheuser-Busch InBev (AB InBev), has entered the NFT market with a bang. Budweiser released its first NFT collection, featuring 36 unique designs for beer cans. Within an hour, the entire collection was gone! Currently, 75% of the NFTs have been resold.

Spencer Gordon, InBev’s Vice President of Digital and Draft Line, discussed the Budweiser “Heritage Collection.”

“The Budweiser ‘Heritage Collection’ is designed to celebrate the brand’s iconic history while also moving Budweiser into the metaverse… The launch of this NFT collection is yet another example of our innovative and consumer-first approach to further strengthen our iconic brands.”

What’s in the Budweiser NFT Collection?

The Bud Light N3XT Collection consists of 12,722 generative tokens. These tokens celebrate innovation, community, and the next generation. These tokens are generative artworks made from random two-part backgrounds and icons that represent our passions. There are two types: N3XT or Diamond. These will be revealed once mint is complete. Token holders enjoy exclusive benefits such as voting rights for future initiatives (like brand merchandise), rewards and surprises.

The Budweiser NFT collection, which is called ‘Budverse Cans Heritage Edition”, consists of 1,936 digital beer bottles. The year AB InBev launched its first Budweiser can in 1936 is a deliberate choice. All cans are made using archives photos, ads, and designs from throughout the brand’s history.

The collection can be divided into Core NFTs or Gold NFTs. The first includes 1,900 unique, generative-art NFTs that feature iconic Budweiser cans. The NFT holders get access to the “Budverse”, as well as several rewards. Gold NFTs, on the other hand are 36 NFTs that are “super rare”, and showcase the “most iconic heritage cans”. These NFTs not only offer the core NFTs’ benefits but also provide holders with “hyper-exclusive, limited-access gold levels of access”. The Core NFTs are $499 per NFT, while the Gold NFTs are $999 each.

Budweiser has been strategically stepping into NFT in recent months. In July, Budweiser partnered with VaynerNFT, an NFT media shop, to make a “long-term strategic business play”. It purchased Tom Sachs’ NFT artwork piece for $25,000, and the domain name “beer.eth” for $94,000 the next month.
